Pb-free, low-melting-point glass frits, sealing glass pastes, and glass preforms engineered for hermetic sealing across stainless-steel, ceramic, metal-to-ceramic, and glass-to-glass joints. AGC’s proprietary glass chemistry melts cleanly at relatively low temperatures while still bonding strongly to dissimilar materials, yielding a hermetic seal with good reliability and resistance to moisture and acids. These materials are used widely in semiconductor packaging, MEMS sealing, sensor packaging, and electronic-component hermetic enclosures.
What’s available
- Frit powder. Supplied in kilogram to metric-ton quantities, with customizable particle-size distribution.
- Glass paste. Frit pre-blended into a screen-printable carrier when your process needs a paste rather than a powder.
- Custom preforms. Sintered glass shapes machined to your specified dimensions in any quantity, designed to drop into your assembly and melt precisely where needed.
Compliance
All glass frits in this product family are RoHS-compliant and contain no lead. They are well suited to medical-device, automotive-sensor, and other regulated assemblies where Pb content is restricted.
Technical support
Our Hillsboro team works with customers to optimize the sealing or firing profile for their specific equipment. We can advise on ramp rate, peak temperature, dwell, and atmosphere to land the seal within the process window your hermeticity and mechanical-strength requirements need.
